Dr. Sandeep Patel, a native Houstonian, is a graduate of the University of Houston where he received his Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Patel then went on to his medical education at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Here he received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree. He completed his surgical residency at Howard University/Providence Hospitals in Washington, DC, where he received extensive training in foot and ankle trauma as well as limb salvage. He was honored to be selected as chief resident his last year. He completed further training at John F Kennedy University Hospitals, which is an affiliate of UMDNJ. There in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, he was further educated and trained in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery as well as wound care. He completed an ACFAS accredited course in foot and ankle arthroscopy as well. Dr. Patel treats a wide spectrum of patients ranging from pediatrics to adult foot and ankle disorders/deformities. His interests include diabetic limb salvage, heel pain, fractures of the foot/ankle, ankle sprains/sports injuries, and reconstruction. He enjoys basketball, football, traveling, classical Indian drums(tabla) along with spending time with his wife and two kids..
A native Houstonian, Dr. Bilal Shamsi grew up in northwest Houston. He attended Texas A&M University and completed his graduate degree at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. He received his surgical residency training at one of the nation’s oldest and prestigious academic teaching hospitals, The University of Cincinnati Medical Center. While at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Dr. Shamsi had the honor of serving as Chief Resident during his final year of training. He then practiced in a heavily underserved area of northern Kentucky with a major hospital system.
Dr. Shamsi has extensive experience with ankle arthroscopy, flat foot reconstruction, and diabetic limb salvage.
Dr. Shamsi has also helped to virtually train the next generation of physicians by co-founding and developing BoardWizards.com, which provides board review nationwide to foot and ankle surgeons in training. He is glad to be back home in Houston, where he can share (greatly) crafted dad-jokes and his extensive experience to benefit greater Houston area residents. Aside from the satisfaction he gains from seeing patients get back on their feet, Dr. Shamsi enjoys his family, traveling, and Peloton!
