You'll be able to go home - accompanied by a responsible adult - the same day as your surgery. If you had general anesthesia, you may feel temporarily drowsy or nauseous.
Discharge Instructions:
To relieve pain and reduce swelling, apply an ice pack, and elevate your foot. Medication will help alleviate discomfort. Keep your post-op "shoe" on when walking to protect your foot. You'll need to keep your dressing dry to avoid infection.
- Bright red blood appears on the bandage.
- Pain worsens or is unrelieved with medication.
- Your dressing becomes tight or your foot is cold and numb.
- You develop a fever of 101 degrees F/38.3 degrees C or more
